Our story
We want to bring everyone access to any kind of bikes, while reducing the need to own a bike. That's better for the people and for the planet.
How it all begun
Biketribe was born out Amelia's frustration. She wanted to try mountain biking with her friends but the local rental shops didn't have anything available. She started asking around from people she knew and soon found that lots of them had mountain bikes sitting idle in their garages. The lightbulb went off when Amelia was able to convince a friend of a friend to rent their bike to her for a small fee.
Amelia discussed this experience with her friends Kyle and Isabella. The three set out to solve this problem by creating the world's largest peer-to-peer bike rental marketplace.
On a mission to reduce carbon footprint, one bike rental at a time
The Biketribe team envisions a world where most people don't own bikes. Instead, they have an access to a vast pool of bikes all around them. They can always find a bike that fits their specific needs. Access to bikes will be just like running water: when you need a bike, just open the tap.
In this world, people will be using bikes a lot more than today, which is great for the planet and for their health. At the same time, a lot less new bikes need to be produced, which is great for the environment too.
